Day 7 – Trip to Taipei

With 4 hours sleeping, we departed from Charles’s house at 7am, a 7 star house that we feel reluctant to leave. Kar May (from UKM), Medha, Lokesh, Hansha(or LeHui) and I, 5 of us depart to the bus stop outside the Ching Hwa University. It’s too bad that it rained. We took taxi from the house to the bus stop, which cost us NTD 110+50, the extra NTD 50 is the additional fee as the car was overloaded with 5 persons. So, each of us shared the fare, which is 32 per person.

At the bus stop, we met up with Jacky, Michael, Ming Foong and another AIESECer (a pretty girl, but I forgot her name). Michael is from the same LC with Medha, AIESEC Toronto. Actually we were late as we said to meet them at the bus stop at 7am but we actually met them at 7:30am.

We took around one and a half hour to Taipei. It cost us NTD 150 from Hsinchu to Taipei. At the terminal, Jacky and the Pretty Girl (forgive me as I forgot her name, but she’s real pretty) went to their conference while seven of us went to the Starbucks in the 臺北車站 to wait for Coco.

At around 10am, we met with Coco, together with her girl friend, Jacelyn and her two friends from Malaysia who study in (淡江) Dan Jiang University， 智勇（Har）and Jin Tan.

After dropping the clothes to Coco’s father’s friend’s house, we went to 西門町. We walked for a while and started to separate into groups. Medha, Hansha, Ming Foong, Kar May and I, we went to 阿宗麵綫 . We shared a bowl of vermicelli with oyster. It made us feel so warm in the rainy day.

After that, we went to the front door of a cinema called 絕色影院 to meet up with six of them, including Coco.

We went to 鼎泰豐 for lunch! It cost us NTD 290 for each person. Once in a while, it’s okay then. We must try the famous food brand in Taiwan.

After the 2 hours lunch, we went to Taipei 101. We reach there at 4:30pm. It’s too bad that the weather was not too good for walking from one to another destination. However, it’s always a refreshing experience to be there! In Taipei 101, we took a lot of photos of course! Again, we are separated into groups, we went to food courts to chit chat and shared Mc nuggets together. It cost us NTD 27 per person.

Next point, Shilin Night Market. We went there by MRT (捷運). We went off from the train at 劍潭. We spent for almost 2 hours at there and went back at 10pm. We ate 雞排、大腸包小腸、大阪燒、蚵仔煎、豬血糕、青蔥餅 and a big cup of lime+plum drink. I shared the food with Medha, NTD 173.5 for my portion as I ordered some food on my own.

After that, we went back to the house provided by Coco. Sleep.
